How to Use the Patio Calculator

- Excavate to Proper Depth: Dig 7″ deep for 4″ base + 1″ sand + 2″ paver thickness. Add extra for edging.
- Compact in Lifts: Use a plate compactor every 2″ of gravel added. Compact each lift thoroughly for a stable base.
- Slope for Drainage: Pitch patio 1/4″ per foot away from structures. Use a string line to maintain consistent grade.
- Use a String Line: Maintain consistent elevation across the entire patio. Set stakes and run strings at the finished grade.
