Add 5–10% waste for cuts (10–15% for patterned bonds). You also need roughly 7 bags of mortar per 1,000 bricks or 3 bags per 100 blocks. For example, a 20×8 ft brick wall (160 sq ft) needs about 1,098 bricks and 8 mortar bags.
