Privacy Summary

Home Z Calc respects your privacy and collects only the information reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve the website.

You can use our calculators without creating an account.
Calculator entries are generally processed in your browser and are not automatically sent to Home Z Calc.
If you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, username, and profile information.
If you choose to save a calculation to a project, the selected project information may be stored with your account.
Subscription payments are processed by Paddle. Home Z Calc does not receive or store your full payment card details.
We use Google Analytics to understand website usage and performance.
We do not currently display third-party advertising or use affiliate links.
We do not sell personal information.

1. Who We Are

Home Z Calc is a website operated by an individual and available at https://homezcalc.com/.

For applicable privacy laws, Home Z Calc is responsible for personal information processed in connection with the website, except where a third party, such as Paddle, processes information under its own privacy terms and responsibilities.

Home Z Calc does not publish a physical business address. Privacy and support correspondence should be sent by email.

Home Z Calc is operated outside the European Union and the United Kingdom. If applicable law requires Home Z Calc to appoint a local representative, that representative’s contact details will be added to this Privacy Policy.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Home Z Calc website, calculators, account features, project-planning features, Free and Premium subscriptions, support communications, and related services.

It does not govern third-party websites, payment pages, or services that publish their own privacy policies.

3. Information We Collect

The information we process depends on how you use Home Z Calc.

3.1 Information You Provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including:

Name
Email address
Username
Profile information
Account and subscription preferences
Messages included in support or privacy requests
Project names, calculator summaries, estimated quantities, estimated costs, notes, and related project information that you choose to save through an account feature

Please do not include sensitive personal information in project names, notes, support messages, or other free-text fields.

3.2 Calculator Information

You may use the calculators without creating an account.

Standard calculator entries, such as dimensions, quantities, selected materials, measurement units, currency preferences, and estimated costs, are generally processed locally in your browser. Home Z Calc does not automatically collect those entries merely because you use a calculator.

Some calculator features use browser storage, such as local storage, to remember settings or locally saved calculations on your device. Information stored in browser storage remains under the control of your browser and can be removed by using the calculator’s Clear function or clearing your browser data.

If you deliberately use an account feature such as Add to Project, the calculator summary and project information you choose to save may be transmitted to and stored by Home Z Calc so the project can be displayed in your account.

Home Z Calc does not currently allow users to upload attachments, PDFs, images, spreadsheets, or other files.

3.3 Account Information

When you register for an account, we may process:

Name
Email address
Username
Password-related authentication data
Profile information
Account status and preferences
Saved project records
Subscription level and limited transaction references

Passwords are stored using WordPress’s protected, one-way password-hashing system. Home Z Calc cannot view or retrieve users’ original plain-text passwords.

3.4 Payment and Subscription Information

Home Z Calc offers Free and Premium plans, including monthly and annual subscriptions.

Premium payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle may collect and process payment card details, billing information, country or region, tax information, transaction information, fraud-prevention signals, and other information required to complete and manage a purchase.

Home Z Calc does not receive or store full payment card numbers. We may receive limited information from Paddle, including:

Customer or transaction identifiers
Subscription status
Product or plan purchased
Payment status
Renewal or cancellation status
Limited billing or receipt information

Paddle handles payment processing and may also manage applicable taxes, invoices, receipts, refunds, chargebacks, fraud prevention, and subscription administration under its own terms and privacy policy.

3.5 Technical and Usage Information

When you visit the website, we or our service providers may process technical information such as:

Browser type and version
Device type
Operating system
Language and approximate region
Referring page
Pages viewed
Date, time, and duration of visits
Clicks, events, and feature interactions
Cookie or device identifiers

Home Z Calc does not currently operate a marketing newsletter. If marketing emails are introduced later, we will update this policy, obtain consent where required, and provide an unsubscribe method. Essential account, security, payment, and subscription messages may still be sent when necessary to provide the service.

We do not use calculator inputs stored only in your browser for unrelated advertising or marketing.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the European Union General Data Protection Regulation, United Kingdom GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

Contract: to create and manage accounts, provide saved projects, verify Premium access, and deliver requested services.
Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Home Z Calc, prevent fraud and abuse, and respond to ordinary inquiries, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent: for non-essential cookies, analytics, and marketing communications where consent is legally required.
Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
Legal claims: when processing is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.

You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.

Home Z Calc uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for essential website functions and may use them for analytics.

6.2 Google Analytics

Home Z Calc uses Google Analytics to understand website usage and performance. Google Analytics may process page views, browser and device information, approximate location, interactions, and cookie or device identifiers under Google’s own privacy terms.

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, payment card details, calculator contents, or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics.

Where applicable law requires prior consent, non-essential analytics must not be activated until the visitor provides that consent. If the website does not provide the required consent controls in a visitor’s region, non-essential analytics should remain disabled for that visitor.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect account, checkout, or preference features.

7. Payments Through Paddle

Paddle provides checkout, subscription, payment, billing, tax, refund, chargeback, fraud-prevention, and related services as merchant of record.

When you make a purchase, your payment relationship may be directly with Paddle for the transaction. Paddle processes your payment information under its own privacy policy and legal terms. Home Z Calc receives only the information needed to recognize the purchase, provide Premium access, support the subscription, and maintain appropriate records.

Payment and transaction records may be retained by Paddle for the periods required by tax, accounting, anti-fraud, payment, and other applicable laws.

8. How We Share Information

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with:

WordPress and WooCommerce technologies used to operate accounts, subscriptions, and website features
Paddle for checkout, billing, subscriptions, tax, fraud prevention, refunds, and transaction support
Google Analytics for website analytics, subject to applicable consent requirements
Hosting, database, backup, security, email, and technical providers used to operate and protect the website
Professional advisers, such as legal or accounting advisers, when reasonably necessary
Government authorities, courts, regulators, or law enforcement when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect legal rights
A successor or potential successor in connection with a legitimate sale, transfer, restructuring, or change in control of the website, subject to appropriate safeguards

Service providers receive only the information reasonably necessary for their role and are expected to protect it appropriately.

9. Sale, Sharing, and Advertising

Home Z Calc does not currently sell personal information, display third-party advertising, use affiliate links, or knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Home Z Calc may introduce advertising or affiliate features in the future, primarily for Free users, while Premium users may receive an advertising-free experience. Before introducing these practices, we will update this policy and implement any legally required notices, consent choices, and opt-out mechanisms.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including service operation, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

Our standard retention approach is:

Support correspondence	Generally retained for up to 24 months after the matter is closed.
Privacy requests	Generally retained for up to 3 years to document compliance and prevent misuse.
Security and technical logs	Generally retained for up to 12 months, unless a longer period is required to investigate an incident or abuse.
Google Analytics data	Retained according to the retention setting configured in Google Analytics.
Transaction and subscription records	Retained for the period required by Paddle and applicable tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations.
Backups	Deleted information may remain in restricted backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

We may retain information longer when necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

11. Data Security

Home Z Calc applies reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including HTTPS encryption during transmission, protected account authentication, restricted administrator access, software updates, secure payment handling through Paddle, and data minimization.

No website, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for choosing a strong password, keeping login details confidential, and notifying us if they suspect unauthorized account use.

12. International Data Transfers

Home Z Calc is available internationally. Personal information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, including countries where our hosting, analytics, payment, email, security, or technical providers operate.

Where legally required, we rely on recognized transfer safeguards, such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections, or Standard Contractual Clauses. Third-party providers may also apply their own transfer safeguards under their privacy terms.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

Request a portable copy of certain information

These rights are not absolute. We may retain or continue processing information where permitted or required by law.

How to Submit a Request

Email contact@homezcalc.com with the subject line Privacy Request and describe your request clearly.

We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and protect your account. We ordinarily respond within 30 days, although applicable law may allow additional time for complex requests.

You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We may require proof of authorization and may need to verify your identity directly.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

14. Account and Project Deletion

Users may delete individual saved projects through available project controls.

To request account deletion, email contact@homezcalc.com from the email address associated with the account and use the subject line Account Deletion Request.

Before deleting an account, we may verify ownership. Account deletion may remove or anonymize profile and saved-project information, subject to records that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, subscription, or transaction purposes.

Browser-stored calculator information can be deleted through the calculator’s Clear function or your browser’s storage and cookie controls.

15. European Union and United Kingdom Users

Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, users may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent.

You may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe a privacy violation occurred.

Home Z Calc has not appointed a data-protection officer. We will review whether a data-protection officer or an EU or UK representative is required if our processing activities, legal obligations, or service operations materially change.

16. California and Other United States Residents

Residents of California and certain other US states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of certain personal information, and to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling.

Home Z Calc does not currently sell personal information or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If these practices change, we will update this policy and provide legally required opt-out methods.

Some state privacy laws apply only when a business meets specific legal thresholds. Even where a particular law does not apply, Home Z Calc will consider reasonable access, correction, and deletion requests in line with this policy.

17. Children’s Privacy

Home Z Calc provides educational and practical calculators that may be useful to students and learners. However, the website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

A person under the age of legal majority in their country should use the website with the involvement and permission of a parent, guardian, teacher, or responsible adult, especially before creating an account or purchasing a subscription.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact contact@homezcalc.com so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

18. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

Home Z Calc does not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning users. Home Z Calc does not currently use personal information for automated profiling.

19. Third-Party Links and Services

The website may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy. Review their policies before providing information.
